A beautiful Chadderton Town Hall Wedding
The start of my day with Michael and Sofia was going to be a measure of the rest of the day: hints of nerves, quietness and calmness, and lots of love. I don’t always have the opportunity of spending time with the bride and groom whilst they are getting ready as usually there are timing issues or distance issues - on this occasion I had the great pleasure of spending time with both Sofia and Michael. I began the day with Sofia and ladies getting ready at Sofia’s house in Chadderton. In the build up, clearly Sofia was a little nervous but this didn’t stop there being a lovely sense of calm and warmth in the room. After spending an hour or so with the ladies, I popped up the road to Michael’s parent’s house whilst the guys finished getting ready - again, with a hint of nerves but also with a calm atmosphere too.
I have had the pleasure of photographing a number of weddings at Chadderton Town Hall over the years. It is close to where I live and I know it well and it is one of my favourite registry offices as the room is great. Sofia arrived to the ceremony in a gleaming Mercedes that looked impressive. As Sofia started her walk down the aisle, and approached Michael, slowly the nerves began to dissipate and the overwhelming sense of love between the two became apparent.
The Pictures and the Party
After the ceremony, we all headed outside in to the glorious Oldham sunshine - it really was a beautiful day. We had a small amount of group pictures to complete before Sofia and Michael spent some quality time on their own, taking in their vows and enjoying each other’s company. The gardens at the front of Chadderton Town Hall are lovely and served as a great backdrop for their pictures. Following a bit of quiet outside, the couple then were led back in to their room for the wedding breakfast and in to their party.
