Blackbeard, 'The Hole in the Wall', Clues and Wallace and Gromit - The Bristol Family Adventure - Natural and Unposed Photography
It is so incredibly exciting being a photographer at times, particularly if you love to shoot in a documentary and photojournalistic style. Although I love doing studio based photography, what is more exciting is getting out with families to capture the dynamics and love between the family members and to try to capture this in an unobtrusive, natural way.

So, last week, I had the great pleasure of spending time with Eli and Mia, two of the most fearless, energetic, and sweet natured children you are ever likely to meet. As you can see in the images, first we just spend some at the local park. Even with quite dull light and a terribly overcast sky, we managed to really capture Mia's wonderful spirit in the shots. After that, we returned back home for breakfast before heading to Bristol city to do a pirate hunt. The hunt had been designed by their mum and the clues were very specific to special family moments that have happened over the years. It was so sweet to watch the dawning realisation of where the next clue would be on the children's faces. Each clue led to another Bristol landmark near the water (including a brief visit to a wonderful Banksy piece of art). At the end of the adventure, when all the clues had been found, the kids were rewarded with finding Blackbeard's treasure and you can see in their faces how excited they were.
